Handlers are supposed to take care of you. They are on payroll, so the intimidation factor is ever present. An assistant is not a handler. Nor is a parent who is on payroll. A body guard can be a handler, as well as a sober companion. My question is why weren't the publicists good handlers? She should have nurtured her with the knowledge and expereince, instead of enabling her.
This video of lindsay lohan, shows what happens when you don't have any handlers or anyone to save you from the paparazzi and public scrutiny. This is what happens when you don't a sober companion like rob tencer.

How I Made $20,000 Wearing A Temporary Tattoo on YouTube

Angelina Jolie press opportunity
This is the real life story of how I made $20,000 having my client wear a henna tattoo across her chest and also why you should not deface your body with a permanent tattoo.
I have not mentioned the VIP Hostess by name, as she is no longer a paying client, and I am not trying to promote her in any way. I simply want to tell a true story of How I made $20,000 wearing a tattoo.
Find out more about the Author of this blog at his website Rob Tencer pr.

It all started when a client of mine, Michael Politz, a very popular Las Vegas food, beverage, nite life and a local celebrity, called me up to refer a new client.

Michael, who is all knowing about everything in Las Vegas, had on his radar, that the TV show Extra and the magazine US weekly were following a story about a VIP Hostess that was close with Britney Spears and Kevin Federline.

Kevin kept coming back to Las Vegas and meeting up with the VIP Hostess. Michael was friends with the girl, and she needed help with the press. She became the interest of the world press when she was seen sitting on Kevin’s lap at a private VIP table drinking with him, while another reporter posed as part of Kevin’s entourage, and followed them into a hotel room, where she saw them doing drugs and got in bed together with one of the Hostess’s girlfriends.

By this time, every major magazine, newspaper and gossip tabloid was covering the story, while the VIP hostess was being hounded by the press, invading her privacy. There was no recent photo of her, and everyone wanted to see what she looked like.

Michael Politz wanted to help the girl whom he was friends with, and called me about handling her publicity. I met with her and agreed on a fee for my work. I wanted to know what she wanted to accomplish from my work, and she said she had wanted to make some money, as her story was so hot and selling so many publications.
I dreamed up an idea that turned out to be very lucrative for her, and accomplished her immediate goal of making some money. I arranged for her to receive $10,000 for an exclusive national enquirer story, that called for her to be hooked up to a lie detector.

My best work though was coming up with the idea for her to walk a red carpet with a henna tattoo advertising the online site golden palace. It would be an opportunity for the press to finally get a recent photo of the Hostess, and at the same time advertise the web site. I brokered the deal within 24 hours of signing her, and the company wired the money. Thats how I made $20,000.

The red carpet was at Ceasers palace nite club Pure in Las Vegas, and was for the grand opening of their Pussycat Lounge cabaret with special guest Eva Longoria.

Golden Palace also requested photos of the tattoo’s being applied to the VIP hostess.

Argument 1
Tatoo’s show a lack of class or a lack of good judgement in my opinion, and like clothing, you get sick of it and want a change. However unlike clothing which you can discard, the tattoo stay around forever.

After Vin Diesel’s movie xxx, leading men tattoo’s were in style.

Jamie Fox shaved his head for a tattoo.
"You might have noticed something on the back of the star's head as he made the rounds from one Hollywood awards victory to the next lately. Foxx has been wearing a temporary tattoo, an abstract design sported by his character in the upcoming war film, "Jarhead."

After many people went out to the parlors to have similar tattoo’s made on their bodies, it turned out though, that these leading men had temporary tattoo’s. But the seed had been planted, and people could not get them removed. When Vin decided not to do a sequel, he never wore them again.
Because tattoos are a major part of the extreme-sports culture, the movie's backdrop, they had to appear authentic as well as distinctive enough to adorn a daredevil athlete such as Diesel's Xander Cage.
The actor, director Rob Cohen, tattoo designer Adrien Gallegos and Tinsley collaborated on the tough-guy trimmings. "Rob went after a sexy, appealing feeling with color. Vin was into the images and wording," Tinsley says. The resulting collage:
* On the back of his neck, three X's.
* On the small of his back, two guns crossed to form an X.
* On his left arm, a tribal band on his bicep, a bull charging out of flames and clouds.

* On his right arm, the words "dis" and "order" by his wrist, two eagle wings going up his arm, three stars on his elbow, a bull on his bicep, the word "chaos," wrapped in blue filler, on his forearm.
* On his right shoulder, a star with an eye in the middle.
* On his stomach, the word "Melkor," the name of Diesel's real-life Dungeons & Dragons character.
* On his bellybutton, a chaos symbol topped by flames.
* Around his right nipple, a star.

Argument 2
I want a lasting memory of a moment in my life, to see and remember forever. You have the rest of your life to have better and more vivid times. Does that mean you have to cover your whole body? Do you see your stupid logic?
Find out more about the Author of this blog at his website Rob Tencer pr.
Argument 3

Peer pressure
All my friends got tattoo’s and they are so hot. Does that mean if they all shave their heads like Britney Spears or all smoke cigarettes or they all do drugs, that you have to follow them?

Please be strong and be yourself, not someone else. Have strength to say NO.
Argument 4

My kids were born or someone died that I want to remember as a tattoo. So now you want to be like Anna Nicole Smith and tattoo your back and chest. Find another way to remember them, that won’t deface you.
Please be strong and be yourself, not someone else. Have strength to say NO.

Britney Spears was having a nervous breakdown over the press of Kevin and the VIP Hostess, and she called me, and tried to buy out my contract with the hostess. She begged me to stop the press I was doing for the Hostess. Before her negotiation with me, something happened.
It turned out that the VIP hostess’s massive drug addiction made her very paranoid, and she went into a drug induced seclusion, didn’t answer my phone calls and that was the last that I ever heard from her again.

How to build a press kit for an actor in the CANNES film festival

How to build a press kit for an actor in CANNES film festival
You’re on your way to a film festival. Be prepared with ammunition for the press to devour. Have your press kit packed with Rob Tencer’s recommended press kit.
If you’re on your way to your first film festival, or if you are making a habit of attending as the lead actor, supporting actor, director or producer, you should have your press kit ready in anticipation of press.
The first thing to understand is that the film you’re in has hired a publicist. The reality is that this publicist is not concerned with your career. They have an entirely different goal, which is to help the filmmakers sell the film, and recoup the cost to the investors.
There is no guarantee that your film at the film festival will further your career, even if you are the star. Hiring a personal publicist like Rob Tencer is your first step to getting the press you not only deserve, but the press necessary to further your career. Even if you built a press kit on your own, how would you get it into the hands that could help you most? Why would you give it to the film publicist if you were not their priority? By the end of the festival, or after your film was shown for the last time, what do you have to show for it? What if the film was not bought or released until years after the festival? Would you’re big break be wasted?
If you were to hire a publicity specialist like Rob Tencer, you could be assured that someone was working for you aggressively to garner as much press as possible.
Timing is very important, and if you wait to long, the press will not be interested in you or the film after it has been shown. You need to start working on your career as soon as you begin your work on the film.
Get the cast photo
There is an agreement in your film’s contract that any photos shot by the film’s photographer, are not for the use by cast members without permission. This permission is seldom given without a full review. Don’t let this happen to you. Make sure you get the contact information of the film photographer. You will need it to build your press kit. Also, get cast photos and if you are not the lead, make sure you get a photo of you and all lead actors. The more candid and not fan-like, the better.
The importance of photo’s and video clips from your film might be more important than
anything else in your press kit, besides your name.
Your name
How do you pronounce your name? How do you spell your name? What name are you going to give? What name is in the credits of the film? Changing your name to many times will make it difficult to look you up on IMDB or various search engines searfches about you. If you were Billy, and now you are Bill or William, from now on you must keep that name. If you were Kat or Kathy, and now you are Katherine, that is the name you should stick with.
Your bio
What else have you done as an actor, which you want the press to know about? If there is anything you want to bury, make sure it is not in your bio.
Press clips
Has anyone ever given you a good review? If yes, it should be in your press kit.
Has anyone hated your work, and wrote how they feel about you? If yes, it should not be in your press kit.
Film Bio
Describe the movie or cut and paste from the film press kit. Place your name above all others in the film, even if you have a smaller part.
Electronic press kit and website
The cost might be cheaper to place everything on a CD and call it an electronic press kit. The cost would even be cheaper yet, if you just handed out a business card with your web address for clips and electronic press kit.
Why your press kit is a waste without the proper handling
A piece of paper that to you is the most important piece of paper in the world will be useless without getting it to the right people.
It does not matter if its at Tribeca, Toronto, Caan, Hollywood, Venice, Monaco, or any film festival in the world. This is your one opportunity to take center stage. Why let it pass? Do something about it, while you can.
Rob Tencer equalizes the playing field by creating a buzz for the unknown and overlooked actor. Most films with a wide release, count on heavily paid actors like Shia LaBeouf, Will Ferrell, Halle Berry, Ice Cube, Kate Blanchett, Robert DeNiro, Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Courtney Cox, Scarlett Johanson, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, America Ferrera, Jim Carrey, Tim Allen, Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Naomi Watts, Rose McGowan, Rosario Dawson, Anne Hathaway, Eva Longoria, Penelope Cruz, Uma Thurman, LL Cool J, Charlize Theron, Jessica Simpson, Emma Roberts, Julia Roberts, Tyler Perry, Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Hudson, Owen Wilson, Hellen Mirren, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sandra Bullock, Drew Barrymore, Tom Hanks, Hayden Panettiere, Reese Witherspoon, John Heder, Mark Walhberg, Jeremy Piven, Adam Sandler, Terrance Howard, Keira Knightley, Nicolas Cage, Heath Ledger, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Will Smith, Hillary Swank, Katherine Heigl, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce or singers making transitions into film like Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake or even models who transitioned like Molly Simms, Rebecca Romijn to help draw an audience and to sell movie tickets.
A film has a better chance of making money when they have a big star attached to it. The big actors contract usually requires them to do press for the films. This is the only guarantee for any actor to receive any press for a film.
There is now relief for the actors of low budget movies that’s film does not have the budget for press for its film stars.
There is a publicist who specializes in creating a buzz for his clients no matter what role you play in the movie, from the star, supporting cast to an extra with just a couple lines.
The publicist is Rob Tencer, who creates the buzz through his writing, creating photo shoots that make the actors stand out, and press opportunities from setting up media interviews to being at red carpet loaded with press events. How to use the laws of attraction to crash the Maxim Hot 100 when you’re not in the top 100

How to use the laws of attraction to crash the Maxim Hot 100 when you’re not in the top 100
How a cute girl not only crashed the Maxim Hot 100 party, but got press where real Hot 100 girls didn’t. This article will tell how she did it and how Rob Tencer helped her.
Before you get on the list of the world famous Maxim Hot 100, a list of celebrated girls decided by Maxim editors who compile a yearly ranking by weighing buzz and beauty for girls in film, TV, music, sports and fashion, and before you attend the star studded party which honors the girls who made the list, and lastly, before you become a pin-up in the magazine, you must have a goal and a plan. What are your goals? Do you have a plan?
What follows is not only a how-to on getting in, and becoming a Maxim Hot 100 girl, and not just a way to crash the party, but how I actually did it.
Your plan should start with having plenty of self confidence, and you should actually look like you belong in the Maxim Hot 100. If you see that the current number one Lindsay Lohan who is on the list is under 21, you can be happy to know that age is not a factor. Talent and a career is also not a determining factor to being in the Maxim Hot 100. Where you live is also not a factor, so don’t be put off just because you live a million miles away. A partial list of girls on the Maxim Hot 100 include, Jessica Alba at No. 2, followed by Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Biel, Ali Larter, Eva Mendes, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, Fergie, Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie, Beyoncé Knowles and Katherine Heigl. Celebrity sisters Ashlee and Jessica Simpson are on the list at No. 16 and No. 41, respectively. Ashley Olsen, half of the mogul acting twins, placed 37th, while sister Mary-Kate didn't make the cut.
How did Linsay Lohan not only get on the list, but make it to the number one spot? Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinik explains how Linsay got on the list by his comment: "There is no other star in the world that causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay. Her every move is watched and reported on. She is a huge star in the truest meaning of the word and everyone at Maxim, including our 14 million readers, is obsessed with her."
Next your plan should involve finding out where the next Maxim Hot 100 party will take place, and start setting up your plan on being there. What follows next, to make yourself successful, is many suggestions that are very helpful. Next, you should find out all past years sponsors, and who advertises within the Maxim magazine every month. One way to do this is to analyze the red carpet photos and to see the names of all the advertisers on the wall. (This should be easy, because the logos are repeated on the wall).
Next, you should contact the magazine with a few questions, such as: who is their public relations company in charge of the Maxim Hot 100 event, and the name of the person to contact at the pr company. You can also ask for Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinik’s email address, and a writer of the magazine.
On the non-Maxim side, you can locate and contact a young, guy celebrity through their agent, manager or publicist who is single, who might want to take you as his date.
Next, you can contact the location of the next event’s general manager or owner to go as their date, depending on how much chutzpah you have. You should use your power of persuasion to get into the event as well as the laws of attraction by visualizing yourself attending the event. If that doesn’t work, you can always send in a photo of yourself.
Here’s How I did it. First I found out when the event was, where it was, and who was on the list. Next I found out who the promoter and pr firm of the event was. Then I found out, that the promoter hired an outside firm that specialized in getting a-list and bold face names to attend by offering free jet, hotel, gift and style suite. They of course said no to my request to be flown, but I said what about a room, if I got myself to the event? They still said no. They also said no to my request of just attending. I then went to the magazine, which also said no to the jet and hotel, but said “yes” to attending. I then went all out finding hot and sexy clothes to style my client with. Kelly Cutrone of the PR firm “Peoples Revolution”, lent me an Agent Provocateur corset. The client I was doing all this for, added a dog collar and chain. At the event, there are 1000’s of international press photographers and entertainment news crews with microphone and video cameras. After the event, people started to congratulate me, after seeing me on TV, then more congrat’s started after a piece came out in the New York Post on Wednesday, June 16th, called “Bed, bath and … beyond”. It was an advertisement by Maxim magazine which featured only 1 girl. That girl was my client. So we not only crashed the Maxim Hot 100 event, but we were ultimately paid for being there. I went the extra mile to make this all happen by using the laws of attraction and never giving up. My client however, wanted to give up, just because it was out of town, and because she would not fly. I not only convinced her, but drove her, her mother and sister and a press photographer friend out of state and into the party. I paid out of my own pocket and was not reimbursed for the van rental or the hotel room. I drove one other person, who was a friend of mine, and got him into the Maxim Hot 100 party as my clients date.

Sexy, beautiful and dead part 2 (so much potential)
We talked for hours at a time about her future. What would she do to replace her dancing? What else was she good at? Could she make any money doing it? Would she marry a billionaire? I gave her non-stop ideas of optimism that she seemed to eat up and enjoy someone so positive. Our talks seemed to go on forever. I thought she was so beautiful, and so talented. She was also a talented costume and fashion designer that never realized her abilities. She was an actress and she had so much more to offer the world.

Sexy, beautiful and dead part 1

In 2006, a potential new client contacted me for help. I have great compassion for people and their stories. Sometimes not charging for my help. She saw my talent and wanted my help. Her name was Shira Moss. She was a new girl in my life that touched my heart. From the moment we met, I sensed urgency unlike any other. There was no doubt of her authenticity and honesty, even though it came from a very beautiful woman. Her plea was to get out of her profession as a feature dancer, make some money to have independence in life, and to enjoy her life by doing what she liked to do best; shop.

Low profile Socialites with a movie star career.

After paying to see the movie: “We are Marshall”, at the local movie theater, I was mesmerized by the naturally beautiful and talented actress, Kate Mara (24). She has a solid screen presence and great acting skills. After doing a little research about Kate Mara, this is what I found out:
1. Kate is the great grand daughter of the owner of the New York Giants, Wellington Mara.
2. Kate’s other great grandfather is the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art Rooney.
By American standards, she comes from a family of American Royalty. Ownership of a professional sports team in America gives them high visibility and the key to the city of New York (when the team wins). Any other businesses the family have besides the team, is mind boggling. You can quickly put together that she is a low profile socialite. Could it be said, that your only a celebrity if people know who you are?
Could it also be said, that your only a socialite if people know who you are?
Kate loves shoes. I could have the designers sending you and making you shoes for every one of your future trips on the red carpet, and paid for your wearing them.

How not to be a socialite actress like Paris Hilton. But why not?
There must be a balance between hiding your background as a socialite and using your family connections to get special auditions or introductions to directors and producers. On the opposite side to this dilemma of being taken serious as an actor is Paris Hilton. Not by hiding anything, but rather flaunting wealth and the family name, and being completely open about everything (i.e. sex life in detail), Paris took things to another level. Yes its true she did it without class or lady like manners and devoid of etiquette. However she did become wildly famous beyond the usual Vogue, Tattler, WWD, W, New York Observer and other social pages that most Socialites rank themselves. Its natural that socialites travel in the same circles, go to the same parties. Stay safe and stay boring. After you marry, do you go into oblivion only to pop up years later, in an editorial on how beautiful your house is?

Can socialites become famous movie stars?
If purely by genetics, a socialite happens to have good genes in the acting department, and has good looks to match, then it is plausible a socialite can become famous for their acting ability alone. It can also happen, by luck and by paying a publicist as well.
If you take a magnifying glass as to what’s really going on in Hollywood these days, this is what you might find
1. Girls (with no wealth) have rich men (sugardaddy’s) paying their rent and other bills so they can audition all day, shop and party all night. Same for men. There are many Gay people in Hollywood and many divorced or extracurricular spouses.
2. Casting Couch is still alive, but there are so many choices. (not as effective)
So what I’m describing is a lifestyle that requires that you have no job, and financially independent, live close enough to the studio’s and casting offices to have an open schedule for all the auditions and acting classes during the day and night. This sounds very much like it could be a socialites day.

So what I’m describing is a lifestyle that requires that you have no job, and financially independent, live close enough to the studio’s and casting offices to have an open schedule for all the auditions and acting classes during the day and night. This sounds very much like it could be a socialites day.

Is Elliot Mintz working for free?
We already know that Elliot is the publicist of Paris Hilton, but today I saw that Elliot is also the publicist of sister Nicky Hilton. With the price he gets paid for Paris, is he throwing in Nicky at no charge?
I had a client who always brought her sister, who was also an actress. I never got paid for the sister, because we always allow for a plus 1.
From NY Post Page Six,
February 14, 2007 -- NICKY Hilton is gearing up to battle the developer who's suing her for allegedly reneging on deals to promote Nicky-O hotels in Miami and Chicago. Robert Falor filed a suit in Illinois against the hotel heiress and her manager, Paul Fisher, claiming he subsidized a "lavish" lifestyle for them, including a Cadillac Escalade for Fisher, parties for Hilton and her friends and free plasma TVs for both. Nicky's publicist, Elliot Mintz, told us, "There is much more here than meets the eye."

Warning signals you need a new publicist... or a new boyfriend
I absolutely adore Emily Blunt, but was mortified to learn that her boyfriend is anti-publicity and a bit of a recluse. I have had this same phenomenon with my past clients and her boyfriend Crispin glover. Crispin hated press and hated publicists as well.
It might not be that she needs a new publicist, but either he needs to change his ways, or she needs to replace him with a media friendly boyfriend (common law marriage if their not secretly married in Canada)
As seen in the New York Daily News, Daily Dish with Rush and Molloy:
Poor Emily Blunt won't get to wear her Grammy frock. Her boyfriend, singer Michael Bublé, is refusing to go to the Feb. 11 awards ceremony in L.A.
In the first place, he says, his category doesn't get any TV time. "They give away our Best Traditional Pop award at a dinner before the Grammys, so I just think that's bull-," Bublé told the Canadian Press. "I think it's absolute crap."
But he also confesses, "Why should I go to the Grammys? Because I'll lose. They might as well have already scratched Tony Bennett's name into the damn thing. I'm not going."
Bublé did accompany Blunt to the Golden Globes when she was nominated for her scene-stealing turn in "The Devil Wears Prada," but he wasn't there when she clinched Best Supporting Actress.
"When she won the thing, I was outside having a cigarette," he declared.
Bublé, who lives with Blunt in Vancouver, says fans at premieres and awards shows don't recognize him because "I'm not in the tabloids. We don't live that lifestyle. Never in the tabloids. Look - I hate Hollywood parties, and I hate most other celebrities, to be really honest with you."

What does a publicist wear?
What does a publicist wear to a red carpet, press conference, junket, office?
great article of what a publicist wears.
Came across this blog about a man who payed special attention to what he thought was Paris Hilton's publicist, and what he was wearing. I got a little laugh from this, and you might as well get the same reaction.
