Sexy, beautiful and dead part 5 (I can't believe the news)

In early March, I started to see message boards talking about her death. I was in disbelief. I called her promoter and her webmaster and within the hour, her mother called and told me it was true. They were with her in the hospital, and they kept thinking that Shira would be coming home soon. She had died of a brain tumor at 25.

With all her potential and her beauty and talent, that I recognized to be so sincere and honest, I am in tears. I can’t believe Shira Moss is gone.

Sexy, beautiful and dead part 4 (she needed my help)

I decided to concentrate on helping Shira make some money so she could leave her past behind, and start on her future with independence. She was banking on her website to make her some much needed income. I concentrated on bringing visitors to her site. I asked for nothing in return, and was never compensated, nor did I want anything in return for bringing her paying members. Shira’s happiness meant more to me than anything.

Sexy, beautiful and dead part 3 (she had a membership on Jdate)

It was only natural for me to think of her as possible marriage material, especially being Jewish. She told me about her time on Jdate, looking for a Jewish man. When she was honest and sincere, men were put off by her past. They could not look beyond it. For me, I never seemed to get past my photos on Jdate. For her, it was her history and people could not see a bright future with her in it, like I could. If it was not for my long distance from Shira, I am sure I would have been part of her life even more.

Sexy, beautiful and dead part 2 (so much potential)

We talked for hours at a time about her future. What would she do to replace her dancing? What else was she good at? Could she make any money doing it? Would she marry a billionaire? I gave her non-stop ideas of optimism that she seemed to eat up and enjoy someone so positive. Our talks seemed to go on forever. I thought she was so beautiful, and so talented. She was also a talented costume and fashion designer that never realized her abilities. She was an actress and she had so much more to offer the world.

Sexy, beautiful and dead part 1

In 2006, a potential new client contacted me for help. I have great compassion for people and their stories. Sometimes not charging for my help. She saw my talent and wanted my help. Her name was Shira Moss. She was a new girl in my life that touched my heart. From the moment we met, I sensed urgency unlike any other. There was no doubt of her authenticity and honesty, even though it came from a very beautiful woman. Her plea was to get out of her profession as a feature dancer, make some money to have independence in life, and to enjoy her life by doing what she liked to do best; shop.

The power of socialiterank.com is huge

One day after my comment on socialiterank.com about low profile socialite / actress Kate Mara; she makes the fashion pages of Fashion Wire Daily. See it here! Mark Wahlberg and gorgeous Kate Mara (pictured together). wore a short white silk bustier-top Catherine Malandrino cocktail dress and schmoozed with director Antoine Fuqua and his wife, actress Lela Rochon, and the gaggle of familiar faces that joined them for the premiere. We spotted a very pregnant Jenna Elfman, as well as Djimon Hounsou, Jeremy Piven, Jill Hennessey, and Derek Luke on the crowded carpet.

Low profile socialite sings national anthem at New York Giants game.

BTW: the game was televised nationally on NBC prime time.
Kate Mara starts Giant rout in style

By Ken Palmer
Giants Insider
Date: Oct 30, 2005

Kate Mara was fabulous. Wellington Mara’s granddaughter has sung the national anthem countless times before Giants games. But never under this bright a spotlight. However, there she was, decked out in a number 89 Giants jersey with the name ‘Duke’ on the back, beautifully belting out our national anthem in front of close to 80,000 fans.

“I’ve sung the national anthem so many times here, but this time was the most important and most special,” she told TGI in the stadium tunnel moments after her stirring performance. “I knew he was watching up there.”

Mara was backed – literally and figuratively – by 36 of her cousins, which she said was “really special.”

GM Ernie Accorsi was extremely impressed by Mara’s rendition and told her so afterward.

“I was crying and I wasn’t even singing,” Accorsi said. “How could she do that? I said to her it was magnificent. I told her she did a magnificent job.”

Mara said once she got started, the nerves disappeared.

“I was more nervous that I was going to cry during the moment of silence,” she said. “It’s been a really emotional week. It’s been an amazing week, all the stories about my grandfather. I was more nervous that I was going to start crying before I sang.”

While obviously a tough situation, Mara said she never even thought about passing up the opportunity.

“I wanted to do it for my grandfather as a thank you,” the 22-year-old said. “I wanted to do it for him.”

While sad he’s gone, Mara knows that her special grandfather will always be a part of her life.

“He meant everything to me,” she said. “He’s my hero. Every Sunday is like a reunion for our family. It’s hard to know he’s not going to be here with us, but we know that he’s going to be watching and he’ll be there in spirit.”…

Somewhere above, Wellington Mara is smiling down on all his Giants. Mr. Mara certainly loved to beat the Redskins. The Giants not only beat, but embarrassed the boys from DC on Sunday, in as fitting a tribute to their beloved owner as ever.

“It means the world,” Accorsi said of the victory. “He’s such a powerful influence in everybody’s life.”

“He was a great guy,” added former Giants and current Redskins DT Cornelius Griffin. “I loved playing for him. He was always around his players. That meant a lot to him. He’d come and talk to you no matter what.”

Mara always said his favorite game was the 1986 NFC Championship Game, which was part of the moving video tribute displayed on the stadium’s big screens during halftime. He might now have a co-favorite.

“It was pretty special for us, it really was,” John Mara said. “I never in my wildest dreams expected them to pitch a shutout. I just wish he could have been there to see it.”

After the game, Eli Manning presented Mara with the game ball.

“It was pretty special,” Mara said of the gesture. “I said, ‘don’t do this to me. I don’t know if I can hold my emotions any more than I have this week.’ Obviously it’s very gratifying.”

Jeremy Shockey symbolized the thoughts of the Giants when he pointed to the heavens while running out on the field before the game.

“It was obviously a very emotional game,” Shockley said. “We know he’s up there smiling, but in the same sense he’s probably saying get ready for San Francisco.”…

While so much has been made of all of Wellington Mara’s generous and loving ways, he sure knew a little something about football at the same time.

While he was a staple at practices, he especially loved being involved in the Giants draft meetings.

“It was his favorite time of year,” John Mara said. “Day after day, he would sit there as reports were read on every prospect. No matter how remote they were, he didn’t want to miss anything and he loved interacting with our scouts. He identified with them because he had been one himself for so many years.”

New York's Low Profile Socialite family of Kate Mara

Giants win one for Mara
By Tony Moss
NFL Editor
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - You knew the New York Giants were going to play with emotion on Sunday, but did anyone expect anything like this?
The G-Men came out and destroyed the Washington Redskins, 36-0, offering a positive conclusion to a difficult week defined by the death of owner Wellington Mara on Tuesday.
Giants running back Tiki Barber, who had visited Mara on Monday, talked following the legendary owner's funeral on the subject of how badly he wanted Sunday's win.
Boy, did he deliver.
Barber rushed 24 times for a career-high 206 yards and a touchdown, with his yardage total just 12 off of the franchise record. After his 4-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter, Barber ran to the Giants' sideline and handed the ball to Tim McDonnell, one of 36 Mara's grandchildren that were in attendance on Sunday.
"I think there was emotion all week, in particular on the field today," said Barber. "It's hard to figure out what you're going to do or how you're going to react in a situation like we experienced this week, but I think we did what Mr. Mara would have wanted us to do, which is carry on, play the game to the best of our abilities, and go beat a big rival in the Redskins, and go get first place in our division. I think everything worked out the way it should be."
Even before Barber and company got around to honoring Mara with their play, the Giants franchise established the tone for the day's proceedings.
Kate Mara sings the national anthem with her family behind her as the Giants honored Wellington Mara's legacy.
The team wore a patch with the initials "WTM" on their jerseys, and the flags at the Meadowlands sports complex were lower to half-staff. Prior to the game, a moment of silence was held in memory of Mara. That was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by his granddaughter, Kate Mara - who wore a No. 89 jersey with Mara's nickname, "Duke," on the back. Kate Mara was accompanied on the field by 35 of Mara's other 39 grandchildren.
With that backdrop, the Redskins scarcely stood a chance.
Washington was held to 125 total yards and seven first downs on the day, suffering a shutout against a team that came into the day ranked near the bottom of the league in defense. The loss by the Redskins, coupled with a defeat for the Eagles in Denver, gave New York (5-2) sole possession of first place in the crowded NFC East.
"It was very fitting," said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin. "Mr. Mara loved a great defense and he loved to run the ball...We tried to get back to what Mr. Mara would want and that's focusing on football."
Following the victory, quarterback Eli Manning (12-of-31 passing, 146 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) presented the game ball to Mara's son, John, who serves as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer for the Giants.
Asked what his late father would have thought about Sunday's rout, Mara said, "I think he would have been pretty pleased to be honest with you. He would have had a big smile on his face and he would have been pretty pleased."
You must believe that the first-place Giants and their ecstatic fan base are echoing that sentiment at the moment.

More about the low profile socialite Kate Mara

Here is some more about Kate Mara's acting career:

Since her 1997 television debut, Kate Mara has managed to appear in almost two dozen films and television shows. The actress, who was raised in Bedford, New York, kicked off her acting career at an exceedingly early age when she starred in one play after another at a variety of theater camps and after-school programs. Kate made her professional debut at the age of 13 in an episode of Law and Order, and followed that up in 1999 with small but pivotal roles in Random Hearts (opposite Harrison Ford) and Joe the King (opposite Ethan Hawke).

Appearances in several sitcoms and one-hour dramas followed -- including Ed, Nip/Tuck and Everwood. But it wasn’t until Kate landed a key role alongside fellow newcomer Aaron Stanford in Tadpole (2002) that both viewers and critics sat up and took notice of the up-and-coming actress. Kate cemented her star status with her electrifying turn on the fifth season of the hit Fox show 24 as analyst Shari Rothenberg (affectionately dubbed “New Edgar” by fans of the series). At the top of this hard-working actress’ pile of credentials is three high-profile films: Zoom (2006), with Tim Allen, We Are… Marshall (2006), with Matthew McConaughey and The Shooter (2007), with Mark Wahlberg.

Low profile Socialites with a movie star career.

After paying to see the movie: “We are Marshall”, at the local movie theater, I was mesmerized by the naturally beautiful and talented actress, Kate Mara (24). She has a solid screen presence and great acting skills. After doing a little research about Kate Mara, this is what I found out:

1. Kate is the great grand daughter of the owner of the New York Giants, Wellington Mara.
2. Kate’s other great grandfather is the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art Rooney.

By American standards, she comes from a family of American Royalty. Ownership of a professional sports team in America gives them high visibility and the key to the city of New York (when the team wins). Any other businesses the family have besides the team, is mind boggling. You can quickly put together that she is a low profile socialite. Could it be said, that your only a celebrity if people know who you are?
Could it also be said, that your only a socialite if people know who you are?

Kate loves shoes. I could have the designers sending you and making you shoes for every one of your future trips on the red carpet, and paid for your wearing them.

How not to be a socialite actress like Paris Hilton. But why not?

There must be a balance between hiding your background as a socialite and using your family connections to get special auditions or introductions to directors and producers. On the opposite side to this dilemma of being taken serious as an actor is Paris Hilton. Not by hiding anything, but rather flaunting wealth and the family name, and being completely open about everything (i.e. sex life in detail), Paris took things to another level. Yes its true she did it without class or lady like manners and devoid of etiquette. However she did become wildly famous beyond the usual Vogue, Tattler, WWD, W, New York Observer and other social pages that most Socialites rank themselves. Its natural that socialites travel in the same circles, go to the same parties. Stay safe and stay boring. After you marry, do you go into oblivion only to pop up years later, in an editorial on how beautiful your house is?

Can socialites become famous movie stars?

If purely by genetics, a socialite happens to have good genes in the acting department, and has good looks to match, then it is plausible a socialite can become famous for their acting ability alone. It can also happen, by luck and by paying a publicist as well.

If you take a magnifying glass as to what’s really going on in Hollywood these days, this is what you might find

1. Girls (with no wealth) have rich men (sugardaddy’s) paying their rent and other bills so they can audition all day, shop and party all night. Same for men. There are many Gay people in Hollywood and many divorced or extracurricular spouses.
2. Casting Couch is still alive, but there are so many choices. (not as effective)

So what I’m describing is a lifestyle that requires that you have no job, and financially independent, live close enough to the studio’s and casting offices to have an open schedule for all the auditions and acting classes during the day and night. This sounds very much like it could be a socialites day.

Is Elliot Mintz working for free?

We already know that Elliot is the publicist of Paris Hilton, but today I saw that Elliot is also the publicist of sister Nicky Hilton. With the price he gets paid for Paris, is he throwing in Nicky at no charge?

I had a client who always brought her sister, who was also an actress. I never got paid for the sister, because we always allow for a plus 1.

From NY Post Page Six,

February 14, 2007 -- NICKY Hilton is gearing up to battle the developer who's suing her for allegedly reneging on deals to promote Nicky-O hotels in Miami and Chicago. Robert Falor filed a suit in Illinois against the hotel heiress and her manager, Paul Fisher, claiming he subsidized a "lavish" lifestyle for them, including a Cadillac Escalade for Fisher, parties for Hilton and her friends and free plasma TVs for both. Nicky's publicist, Elliot Mintz, told us, "There is much more here than meets the eye."

Ingredients for getting into the New York Post

I thought this blog did a great job of giving an example of a news piece that was published and then breaking it apart to explain what made the story media worthy..

It has a shocking value to it, and I congratulate the people at pervescan for bringing to my attention.

House of Pain
» From the S&M Department

“A meshugga madam who taught people how to be sex slaves turned a stately $3 million Westchester home owned by an ultra-Orthodox rabbinical school into an S&M dungeon, police claimed yesterday. Mistress of ‘The Sovereign Estate,’ Sandra Chemero — who advertised the manse online as a place ‘where submissives and slaves are immersed in training’ — was busted on charges of prostitution and weapons possession for having a stun gun. Chemero’s lair is in the same tony Bedford Hills town that’s home to convicted felon Martha Stewart, designer Ralph Lauren and billionaire George Soros. The 46-year-old dominatrix, who was arrested Tuesday, was free on bail by yesterday afternoon. Bedford cops said that they’re still investigating and that they are reviewing ’seized business records’ of her unorthodox operation. Pictures on Chemero’s Web site show the S&M mistress using whips, chains, leather straps, and sex toys on her male clients. In one sickening photo, she appears to be using a funnel and a tube to urinate into the mouth of a man who is bound and gagged… Neighbors said were surprised to hear of the goings-on in the house. ‘That’s life. There are all kinds of people with all kinds of quirks. I’d be more worried if they were selling drugs,’ said a retired stockbroker.” — New York Post (US)

(Thanks to Cat for the link.)

Lest you go looking for them, law enforcement has done a great job erasing Ms. Chemero’s sites from the web. They were available at sovereignestate.com and thesovereignestate.com. Even some ads that Ms. Chemero posted on S&M sites have disappeared. You’d think she never existed online if the New York Post hadn’t reproduced one of her pictures.

The newspapers have played up the fact that the estate in question happened to be owned by a Jewish yeshiva. “It’s against our religion. It’s against the Bible. We’ve never even heard of such a thing,” a rabbi told the newspaper. Presumably he was referring not to prostitution, since that and half a dozen other kinks are mentioned in the Bible itself, but to BDSM. Whatever. The Jewish angle seems relevant only from the “get a story to sell papers” viewpoint, since the lady rented the mansion through an agent and apparently had no contact with the rabbinical owners. Or at least she had no contact with them concerning real estate matters.

The newspapers have also tried to stoke the flames by getting reactions from neighbors, boilerplate stuff along the lines of “can you believe it happened in this tony neighborhood?” Well, of course it’s believable. Who do you think has the money to patronize S&M dungeons — guys on the dole? welfare moms? Sure, there is a range of establishments running from the cheap to the rich. But even the cheap dungeons in New York are not exactly available to the budget shopper. Mostly they’re patronized by “generous gentlemen,” so it makes perfect sense to set up shop where the gents live. Hell, probably one of Ms. Chemero’s clients suggested the idea to her. “Hey, Mistress, there’s a place for rent down the road…” Odds are the bulk of her clients lived within a five-mile radius. Probably one of them even paid the rent, or else he’d be beaten and humiliated.

Warning signals you need a new publicist... or a new boyfriend

I absolutely adore Emily Blunt, but was mortified to learn that her boyfriend is anti-publicity and a bit of a recluse. I have had this same phenomenon with my past clients and her boyfriend Crispin glover. Crispin hated press and hated publicists as well.

It might not be that she needs a new publicist, but either he needs to change his ways, or she needs to replace him with a media friendly boyfriend (common law marriage if their not secretly married in Canada)

As seen in the New York Daily News, Daily Dish with Rush and Molloy:

Poor Emily Blunt won't get to wear her Grammy frock. Her boyfriend, singer Michael Bublé, is refusing to go to the Feb. 11 awards ceremony in L.A.

In the first place, he says, his category doesn't get any TV time. "They give away our Best Traditional Pop award at a dinner before the Grammys, so I just think that's bull-," Bublé told the Canadian Press. "I think it's absolute crap."

But he also confesses, "Why should I go to the Grammys? Because I'll lose. They might as well have already scratched Tony Bennett's name into the damn thing. I'm not going."

Bublé did accompany Blunt to the Golden Globes when she was nominated for her scene-stealing turn in "The Devil Wears Prada," but he wasn't there when she clinched Best Supporting Actress.

"When she won the thing, I was outside having a cigarette," he declared.

Bublé, who lives with Blunt in Vancouver, says fans at premieres and awards shows don't recognize him because "I'm not in the tabloids. We don't live that lifestyle. Never in the tabloids. Look - I hate Hollywood parties, and I hate most other celebrities, to be really honest with you."

What does a publicist wear?

What does a publicist wear to a red carpet, press conference, junket, office?

great article of what a publicist wears.

Came across this blog about a man who payed special attention to what he thought was Paris Hilton's publicist, and what he was wearing. I got a little laugh from this, and you might as well get the same reaction.

Something about you is unique and newsworthy.

Finding out what makes you special and unique is the skill of your publicist. The press thinks they got it out of you, but it was well rehearsed on what to say far in advance. Creating this on a daily basis and keeping you in the news and in photos is even a bigger skill. If your accepted as a client, than your publicist already feels you have this unique quality about yourself. Your intelligence and your positive attributes as well as your beauty and inner beauty are all on display. Of course your best side and your most flattering and positive attributes are the things your publicist puts on display. These are things publicists like Rob Tencer flesh out on a daily basis. If that doesn't work than we manufacture more positive attributes. There is always something new and wonderful to learn about you every day. I promise to find it.

How does a publicist get paid and for what?

A publicist like Rob Tencer begins his work immediately. Publicists do not work on a percentage like your agent, manager or other staff working on a percentage. Because publicists begin working immediately, they must be paid before they start. They must be paid for the month, and if just beginning, they must be paid for a few months in advance. With all the responsibilities of your publicist, and their need to constantly produce. They are worth every penny.

A publicist is like a personal assistant. and more...

A publicist is like a personal assistant because they are responsible for scheduling your daily activities (related to publicity), deciding what you will wear and when you will wear it. A publicist like Rob Tencer, arranges your transportation, makes your dinner reservations, schedules your hair and make up appointments. A publicist is like your body guard, by watching your back and at the same time what you drink and who can come up to you and for how long.

Borrowing clothes from the designers and stores.

Worst scenario is to return the clothes you borrowed in the following condition:
1. Soiled in (sweat) - always dry clean before returning
2. Make-up on the clothing - consider purchasing the garment, if you cannot get it out.
3. Returning late - you have been given a privledge that most people don't get in their whole life. Abusing the privledge by returning the garment late, is simply not acceptable.

You cannot keep or establish good trusting relationships without respecting the people you are dealing with. They very much depend on the garment being returned on time and in the same condition in which you received it. Magazine editorials, samples for buyers to look at, are some reasons they need it back asap.

They have lent you on good faith and with a credit card deposit. If they must, they will charge you for the garment. Unless you plan on buying it (if they let you) than never abuse your privileges. News travels very quickly in the garment business.

How to stop leaks in confidentiality. (Choosing your staff)

You should make the choice of whom you hire by:

1. Recommendation - this will help with loyalty and trust issue's and some doubts.
2. Satisfaction - will you get what you are paying for and be satisfied with it?
3. What kind of people did they previously work for? (are they your friends or enemies?) (were they socialites, celebrities or something similar to you?)
4. Reputation - What kind of reputation do they have?

Consider also the way you treat your staff and how they will treat you. Will they treat you with respect, loyalty and trustworthiness?

I have always asked for second chances and pondered the question of : "How to change a reputation?"

Being taken advantage of or taking advantage of others.

Is it a weakness of intelligence if you get taken advantage of? People can be dishonest, and unscrupulous and diabolical in getting you to do things you didn't want to do, even when your strong with intelligence. There is a con for every level of intelligence with equal results. In the same way, you can take advantage of others and manipulate them any way you want.

How to stop leaks in confidentiality. (Greed and addictions)

Yes, money changes people. A person can get jealous and greedy and possibly lose total control. They can turn to addictions that they can now afford, such as: drugs, gambling, and leaking secrets to pay for their addictions. How do you stop these kind of people? How do you stop a compulsive liar? Keep a close eye on them, treat them like friends, and if you notice anything suspicious in their behavior than confront them and if you have to, let them go. (fire them) This is also a lesson on being to self absorbed in yourself and not to the loyal and trustworthy staff you surrounded yourself with. They are working very closely with you and should be treated well, with your attention.
